Prior to having a LASIK, Dr. Gualtieri and staff will conduct a detailed and thorough eye exam to ensure that you are a perfect candidate. Once this is established, other specific testing and evaluations are performed. These additional tests help Dr. Gualtieri choose the best treatment options for you. Dr. Gualtieri checks and rechecks all acquired data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Once the data has been analyzed, an individualized treatment plan is constructed and tailored to best match you and your vision goals. The LASIK procedure is performed at San Diego Excimer Laser Center and follow up care is done back in our office.
1. INITIAL FREE EVALUATION - it is best NOT to wear soft contacts for 2 weeks and hard lenses 4 weeks prior to the exam.

3. SCHEDULING THE LASIK PROCEDURE
Your time schedule is definitely considered when we plan the surgery. Most patients like the first time slot of 7:30 AM or the end of the day at 4:00 PM. Payment for the procedure is due at this time.
4. SURGERY DAY
The LASIK surgery is performed at the San Diego Eximer Laser Center by Dr. Gualtieri. The treatment time slot is about 1 hour. The actual LASIK part is about 20 minutes. You will need transportation to and from the center.
5. POST LASIK EXAMINATIONS
The post-LASIK examinations are performed in the office personally by Dr. Gualtieri. Plan to have a 1-day, 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year exam appointments as part of the LASIK package.
